Gently Falling is a special favorite stamp set of mine from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I can feel and smell fall when I see those leaves. Fall is my favorite time of year (except for spring and summer). I have been playing with different techniques to capture the beautiful colors of the leaves when they change colors. I hear happens about this time up North!
This card is using the Mojo Monday Sketch for this week Number 210. What is Mojo Monday – you might ask. I was not sure either until recently. There is a blog called Mojo Monday and every week they put up a different sketch and you can upload your card using the sketch. For me, the sketches make me stretch my imagination as I am not "casing" from another card, but actually designing from a drawing.
Stamp Set: Gently Falling (Clear 123804)
Sentiment Holiday Best (retired), could use Gratitude from Day of Gratitude (Clear 121148) or Always Thankful from Holiday Mini (clear 123789)
Card Stock: Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla, Glossy White
Ink: VersaMark, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi (refill), More Mustard (refill), Cajun Craze (refill)
Miscellaneous: Always Artichoke ½ Seam Binding, Antique Brad, Finial Press Embossing Folder, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Black Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Cotton Ball, Alcohol (Now there are two kinds of alcohol used while making this project! HA! Rubbing alcohol and a little Moscato in a glass!)
To create the paper for the leaves, I used a cotton ball soaked with alcohol and squirted at three random spots with Wild Wasabi Ink refill, More Mustard Ink refill, and Cajun Craze Ink refill. (You could do one color at a time - I always seem to be in a hurry to see what the result will be!) Then I pressed the cotton ball all over the glossy white paper. Be careful to press the cotton ball and not drag the cotton ball. Refresh the ink colors as they become faint. After letting this dry, the leaves were stamped in VersaMark and embossed with Black Embossing powder. Then the leaves were cut them out for use in the card.
