Playing with a little Halloween fun today. I just love FALL! We don't really have the riotous color changing of the leaves down here, but the weather is a little less humid and crisper somehow. We don't bring out the sweaters down here, no no no, not until maybe late January! HA! But Fall is a fun time here with lots of festivals and outside activities. I found the cutest adaptation of the new Holiday Stocking Die on Catherine Pooler's blog so I had to recreate my own versions ASAP (- lest I forget where and how! HA!) My kids are sort of grown now but I still like to make cute Holiday things for them. We have a Halloween carving contest every year and the winner receives a Dinner Gift Card to a local restaurant. We have so much fun with this. The boys (and Carissa) spend most of the month trash talking each other as to how they are going to win this year. So I need to start surfing for some ideas! But in the meantime - here are ideas for SPECIAL TRICK OR TREATERS!
Aren't these adorable!!! The Big Shot - Mr. Big - is one of my very most favorite tools! This is the Holiday Stocking Die cut and a circle punch to punch half of the inside part of the boot toe off to make the point. The paper is designer paper Frightful Sight except for a tiny scrap of old DSP from the Sweet and Sour collection. One boot has grommets with Sahara Sand ribbon. The other has buckles punched with the word window punch and rhinestones. Since these seemed a little "girly", I created a pillowbox spider for the boys.
These spider boxes were a ton of fun and done mostly with punches. I used the pillowbox die cut with some Frightful Sight spider paper to embellish the boxes. The colors are Lucky Limeade and Elegant Eggplant. The spider is the 1 3/4" scallop, legs are the retired corner punch, eyes are the smallest scallop on the Boho Blossoms, fangs are the tip of the pennant punch. This was easy breezy to make.
Well, that is my share for today! Hope you have a great weekend - and start thinking about Spooky Things - it is right around the corner. Do you need any supplies? Have any questions? Want to learn a new technique? I would love to be your demonstrator!
WHO DAT SAY DEY GONNA BEAT DEM SAINTS? HUH?
Lots of Luv! Get inky with it!
